Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Douglas C. Arnold

Dear Parents, Guardians, Staff, Students, and other members of the Pleasant Valley School District Community:

Welcome to the Pleasant Valley School District! PV is a dynamic school district, whose dedicated, student-centered School Board, administration and professional and support staff work hard to provide our children with a quality education amid the challenge of increasing enrollment. Our mission statement:

"Excellence in Education – A Community Commitment"

spells out how important the cooperative efforts of our staff, parents and guardians, and community are in helping our students to develop a desire to learn and the motivation to reach their potential as students so they may become responsible, thoughtful and enterprising citizens.

We take great pride in our many academic, co-curricular and extracurricular accomplishments, but also recognize the importance of working hard to build upon our successes and towards the continual improvement of our delivery of an effective education to our youth. The following is a partial summary of our school district’s educational priorities:

1. To continue to study ways of improving student performance and achievement.

2. To examine ways of improving our methods for effectively communicating with our school district residents.

3. To design a comprehensive staff development program for all classifications of personnel that ensures a cycle of continuous growth and improvement.

4. To conduct studies that focus on current and future facilities and staff needed by the school district to improve efficiency of operation.

5. To study current processes and procedures to improve school safety for all students and staff.

At PV, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve our children, their parents or guardians, and our community, thankful for the support our community provides, and inspired to carry out the essential task of educating our children.

We are PV Proud!
