Level of Commitment
Students of the Pleasant Valley High School Drama Club are involved in a rigorous theater program. These
students, however, are engaged in a "learning experience," and not just
an extracurricular activity. The training and memories our young people
get from this program are theirs for life.
We are very excited to be
working with the students and families of the Pleasant Valley School
District. This program has been offered to the students of this school
district for the past twenty years. Initiated and created by the late
Priscilla Marinello, we believe, as she did, that great things happen
when young people are given a change to showcase their talents.
As advisors, we provide our students with
a tremendous array of opportunities to act, design, build, and create.
Whether they are on the stage or off, students are challenged to study
the scripts for cues as to set, character, design, decor, and wardrobe.
Almost like magic, the show comes together like a well-oiled machine...
with students at the controls. We have never been disappointed. Our
students always rise to the challenge. |

Purpose
Students in the Pleasant Valley High
School Drama Club are exposed to the magic of theater through a blend of
hands-on-tasks, study, and interpretation of the dramatic work,
discipline, and creativity.
This program, adapted from college-level
theater programs, gives students the unique opportunity to create a
unified illusion by using and improving their own personal skills, while
also acquiring additional skills that are useful in their everyday
lives. The skills and experience that students obtain through exposure
to the arts will enhance their lives forever.
Productions are held the
first weekend in December--directly after the Thanksgiving break!
