Library Policies

BACK TO HOME

No materials may be taken from the library without being checked out.  Please memorize your library number!

You may borrow five (5) books for two (2) weeks and you may renew (take them out again), as long as no one is waiting for them.  Waiting for  a book is “placing it on reserve.”

If you have OVERDUE items, you will not be able to borrow any more items until the overdue items are returned.

You MAY NOT take out reference books, reserve books, periodicals (magazines), and software.  These items NEVER leave the library.

During the last ten (10) minutes of the period, you may check out any books and photocopy items.

You are responsible for all items until you return them.  DO NOT check out an item for a friend because YOU are responsible for it!

If you lose a library book, please tell the library staff immediately.  If you did in fact lose the item, you will have to pay for the item PLUS a $2.00 processing fee.  If you lose an item from another library that we borrowed for you (called an interlibrary loan), you will have to pay whatever the other library charges you.  If you do not clear your library obligations by the end of the school year, you will not have library privileges at the start of the next school year.

You may photocopy two (2) items per assignment.  All photocopies are made under the provision of Section 108 of the Copyright Act of 1976.

You may not use the library for homework or studying.  When you are in the library, you should be reading or conducting research.
