STEM Learning at PVHS
Beginning in the Fall of 2019, Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is coming to Pleasant Valley High School. PLTW is an American nonprofit organization that develops STEM curricula for use by US elementary, middle and high schools.
The program offers a problem-based curriculum combined with a mandated teacher professional development component. Students are engaged in a hands-on, STEM integrated curriculum that encourages the development of problem solving, critical thinking, creative and innovative reasoning skills.
PLTW offers 3 Pathways for our students to begin their work:
- Computer Science
- Biomedical Science
Pleasant Valley High School students will begin their work in the Computer Science and Engineering Pathways with a planned expansion to the Biomedical Pathway in 2020.
