STREAM Learning at PVE
Pleasant Valley Elementary staff has been working hard to integrate STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) into everything that we do. A STREAM team of teachers was established to work with other teachers to help with STREAM integration in the classroom. Additionally, one of our large group areas has been designated as a STREAM room, complete with group tables and all of the supplies necessary for classes to work on STREAM lessons and activities.
Building-wide STREAM days are scheduled three times per year. On these days, students rotate through various STREAM related stations to work on a wide variety of skills. These days are so much fun that we’ve been working to integrate more of these activities in all that we do. Our PTO implements STREAM activities at many of their events, such as this year’s Camp Night. Pleasant Valley High School students have also been an integral part of our push for STREAM. Student volunteers have joined us for STREAM days, Hour of Code, and Pi Day to help PV’s smallest bears with STREAM!
