Comprehensive Plan
Pleasant Valley School District Comprehensive Planning
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,
The Pleasant Valley School District is undertaking a state-mandated comprehensive planning process that requires a new plan every three years. Our plan, which is due to the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) on March 31, 2025, is a compliance document utilizing a "Ready, Set, Go!" structure. It aligns with Dr. James Konrad's 2024-2025 District Goals, addressing current state accountability requirements and outlining initial steps towards a broader vision. We value your input in shaping this plan.
- The Ready step outlines the steering committee, the district profile, mission, vision, and values of the District.
- The Set step includes a needs assessment and summarizes strengths and challenges.
- The Go! step incorporates goal-setting action planning and the creation of corresponding professional development strategies and communication methods.
The Comprehensive Plan review also includes a review of the following additional plans:
- Academic Standards and Assessment Requirements (Chapter 4)
- Gifted Education Plan Assurances (Chapter 16)
- Student Services Assurances (Chapter 12)
- Induction Plan (Chapter 49)
- Professional Development Plan (Act 48)
The Pleasant Valley School District's Comprehensive Plan, developed with input from parents, community partners, educators, and administrators, is now available for public review. After a brief update to the Board of Directors on February 13, 2025, the 28-day public comment period begins on February 26, 2025. You can find the plan on our website and linked below, along with a feedback form for your comments/suggestions. We encourage your feedback before the Curriculum Department seeks Board approval on March 27, 2025 for submission to the state. We appreciate the hard work of our steering committee members and look forward to your valuable input.
