National School Lunch Program
The National School Lunch Act was signed on June 4, 1946 by President, Harry S. Truman. The legislation came in response to claims that many American men had been rejected for World War II military service because of diet related health problems.

National School Breakfast Program
The School Breakfast Program was started by President, Lyndon B. Johnson on October 11, 1966 when he signed the Child Nutrition Act of 1966. It is a federally assisted meal program that provides nutrition balanced meals at low cost or free to children in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions.

**New This Year for PVSD:**

The Business Office requests that all households complete an "Alternate Household Income Form." This form is crucial as it provides data that will be used to determine educational benefits for your child and for our school district. By completing this form, you will help us secure vital funding for essential resources, including books, technology, and various school services.

We strongly encourage electronic completion of this form, which can be accessed via this link. You can also find this link, along with a printable paper copy if needed, on the left side of this page. If you choose to complete a paper copy, please forward it to Holly Tuers at the administration building.

To reiterate, while all PVSD students qualify for free meals under the CEP program, we kindly request that each household complete one Alternate Household Income Form. This form will not only provide critical data for key funding for academic resources but may also connect your family to additional benefits.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us continue to provide the best educational experience for all our students.
