    Teacher Biography:

    After nearly 20 years as a Registered Nurse on a high-risk obstetrical unit on Long Island, Mrs. Patterson began substitute teaching at Pleasant Valley in 2001. She taught Exploratory Spanish and Spanish I at the Middle School from 2003 to 2012. Señora Patterson moved to the High School in the Fall of 2012.  She instituted and runs the Spanish Peer-Tutoring Lab after school.  With the help of a grant, she and Frau Ford are working to integrate more technology into the World Language Department.

     
    During college, Sra. Patterson spent a summer in Madrid taking classes and has also traveled to Mexico. She lives with with her husband (a history professor) and an incredibly pampered Golden Retriever.  Their children are all PV graduates.  Her oldest son is a graduate of Penn State University and a Captain in the United States Army.  The twins graduated from Lafayette and Skidmore Colleges.  One of which, her son, is a Second Lieutenant (also US Army); her daughter teachers High School Earth Science in Brooklyn, NY.  Mrs. Patterson loves the beach, hates to cook, and misses watching her children compete for PV athletics.
