Welcome Message: “I can’t be right all of the time, quite often I is left instead of right.” The BFG

    Biography:

I am Mrs. Cogan and I have been a part of the Pleasant Valley School District since 1998. Working as an administrative assistant to the principal at PVE, I decided at the age of 30 to go back to college and become a teacher. It took only two years to complete my certfificate and I’ve been a teacher of reading and language arts for 15 years.

I have a wonderful family that includes my husband, son, and daughter. We also are the proud parents of a very sweet Jack Russell Terrier named Clover.

My favorite summer hobby is raising Monarch butterflies which my daughter and I have done for the last five years. We have successfully raised and released over 100 butterflies, probably more. For those of you who know, the Monarch population has been threatened by pesticides and land development, so every butterfly we save is a triumph for the population. Currently (2018), we haven’t released any yet, but have a screen room full of caterpillars ready for their journey into adult Monarchs!

Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about me. My goal this year is to make you the best reader and writer you can be!

    Mrs. Cogan
