Welcome to PVI enrichment! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Mrs. Kresge and I look forward to another amazing school year! My classes include challenging activities which will give students the opportunity to build 21st century, STEAM, logic, language, critical thinking and collaborative problem solving skills. I challenge students not only to think, but to bring a depth of analysis to those ideas and make connections to real life scenarios. Students will also be exploring literature, humanities, robotics, virtual reality, and augmented reality. I continually search for new apps to enhance the way today's generation learns. Enrichment students will also have the opportunity to explore the educational applications of mobile learning using a small iPad and Chromebook Lab. It is always an exciting, fast paced, and invigorating environment!
Through conferences with students, Google classroom information, interest inventories, performance data monitoring, connections with classroom teachers, and expressions of personal talents, I truly get to know each of my students. Students are guided in development of individualized strengths, goals and intellectual growth. I continually look at the whole child to develop learning paths which will inspire, engage, enrich, accelerate (or any combinations thereof!) Along the way, we find exciting ways to involve students in both academic and competitions where they can build personal and cooperative learning skills.
I work with both fifth and sixth grade students across eleven homerooms. All enrichment students should have a yellow permanent pass with lunch group day and time, pull out session day and time, and any other pertinent schedule information. This pass is to be used for the entire school year. I look forward to working with you during the school year. Please feel free to provide any suggestions or ideas you may have regarding the enrichment experience. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the program, please feel free to contact me via phone, note or email.
Biography: I am a proud PV grad from a long, long time ago! PV has given so much to me and being an educator here has given me the chance to give back the experiences and encouragement I was given. Over those many years I have worked with learning support and computer technology education. This year will be my fourteenth year as a gifted education teacher here at PV and my 29th year in education. Inspired by my PV third and fourth grade teachers and my PV High School art teacher, I earned my bachelor's degree in education from Kutztown University with a concentration in art education. Later, I completed a master's degree in education from Wilkes University with a concentration in educational technology. I have taken many classes since then which help build the learning experiences of my students. The main thing I want is for my students to become problem solvers and lifelong learners. I want them to know that learning happens EVERYWHERE and they are students no matter where they are...and no matter how old they get to be.
