An Overview of the Pleasant Valley Academic Program

Pleasant Valley School District

The complete development and preparation of all students for college and the workplace is at the core of the K-12 Pleasant Valley education. Throughout each grade level curriculum and learning experience, our students are:

  • Encouraged to think critically and globally to solve novel and complex problems;

  • Communicate effectively with and among varied and diverse populations;

  • Take initiative for and ownership of their own learning;

  • Be confident to meet their goals through hard work and persistence, and

  • Become a well-balanced, civic minded, socially and emotionally savvy member of society.

From early childhood through high school, Pleasant Valley provides challenging and standards-driven instruction in the core subjects of language arts, math, science, and social studies - - including advanced academic programs, honors classes in high school, as well as enrichment programs and varied elective opportunities at all levels. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves academically, artistically, and athletically. In Pleasant Valley, every student matters and every student can achieve.
