    Lunch Meals in Building and Pick Up

    Pleasant Valley School District is committed to serving meals to all Pleasant Valley Children/students, children/students up to including age 18 years that are not currently enrolled in the school/school district in the community may also be served Free through Seamless Summer Option (SSO) through December 31, 2020.  Parents are permitted to pick up meals in the event that the student cannot be present to receive the meal.

      All breakfast and lunch meals served in all the buildings and through meal distribution will be Free until December 31, 2020.

     Meal distribution for virtual day instruction will be available for pick up of breakfast & lunch meals at the High School from 10-12pm on Wednesdays under SSO Program.

                                          NOTE: August 31 – September 11 Bags will include two breakfast meals and two lunch meals for the virtual school days for students wanting lunch because these two weeks are four-day weekSeptember 14 until further notice - will include three breakfast meals and three lunch meals in bags for the virtual school days for students wanting lunch. As a reminder only children/students are only eligible for these free meals.

    National School Lunch Program
    The National School Lunch Act was signed on June 4, 1946 by President, Harry S. Truman. The legislation came in response to claims that many American men had been rejected for World War II military service because of diet related health problems.
    National School Breakfast Program
    The School Breakfast Program was started by President, Lyndon B. Johnson on October 11, 1966 when he signed the Child Nutrition Act of 1966. It is a federally assisted meal program that provides nutrition balanced meals at low cost or free to children in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions.
