    We are happy to announce, effective immediately, Pleasant Valley School District has been approved for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) to serve free breakfast and free lunch to ALL students in the Pleasant Valley School District. Each student, if they choose, may receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each day for the entire 2022-2023 school year. 

    For those students attending MCTI, you will continue to follow MCTI’s food service guidelines. If you should have any questions, please contact Mrs. Beverly Hendricks @ 570-402-1000 Ext: 8452

  • ARP ESSER FUNDING Information

    The Pennsylvania Department of Education has offered Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Funds. 

    To this end, The American Rescue (ARP) Act of 2021 provided Pennsylvania schools with 5 billion dollars in emergency funding to support the ongoing work of educational recovery. PVSD's allocation was $5,704,025.00.

    PVSD ARP ESSER Application

    ARP ESSER Learning Loss 7% Set Aside Plan - Act 24 of 2021 (Act 24) identified $350 million in ARP ESSER set aside funds for the implementation of evidence-based interventions to address learning loss and provide summer enrichment and comprehensive after-school programs in response to the academic, social, emotional and mental health needs of students, particularly subgroups of students disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. Act 24 requires that school districts, at a minimum, use the funds in the following ways:

    • 30% allocation to address social, emotional, and mental health needs of students
    • 10% allocation to address professional development and technical assistance to educators, school support staff, school leaders, and school health professionals to support social, emotional and mental health needs of students
    • 8% allocation to address reading remediation and improvement for students
    • The remaining allocation may be used by PVSD to address or supplement other key areas of learning loss as a result of the pandemic.

    PVSD's allocation was $316,664.00.

    Learning Loss Set Aside Plan

    ARP ESSER After School Set Aside Plan - Act 24 of 2021 (Act 24) identified approximately $50 million in ARP ESSER set aside funds for the implementation of comprehensive after-school programs to address learning loss in response to the academic, social, emotional and mental health needs of students and sub-groups of students disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.

    PVSD's allocation was $63,333.00.
