    December 2, 2021, 7:00 p.m. ~ Board of Education Reorganization Meeting followed by the Regular Board Meeting Information



    The reorganization meeting and the regular board meeting will take place at Pleasant Valley High School in the new auditorium, 1671 Route 209, Brodheadsville, PA  18322 beginning at 7:00 p.m.  All attendees are required to wear a mask.    

    The meeting will also be available to view virtually via Zoom.  

    Participants must enter their first and last name to join the meeting.  Please check that your Zoom application is up to date.  Thank you for your understanding.

  • Face Coverings Remain Mandatory In All Pleasant Valley School District School Buildings

    11/10/21 - 5 PM

    Today has seen swift legal actions regarding the PA Department of Health order requiring face coverings in all K-12 schools in the Commonwealth.  The ruling issued earlier by Commonwealth Court voiding the Department of Health order has been appealed to the Supreme Court.  That appeal legally triggers an automatic stay, meaning that the PA DOH order requiring face coverings in all K-12 schools remains in effect until the Supreme Court hears the appeal and issues its ruling.

    Therefore, per the stay and legal advice, Pleasant Valley School District will continue to follow the Department of Health order for mandatory face coverings in schools.  All students, staff and visitors to Pleasant Valley School District will be required to wear a face covering in school buildings and in accordance with information provided on our website under the COVID 19 tab.

    Thank you for your patience as these legal proceedings follow their course through the judicial system.

  • Comprehensive Planning at the Pleasant Valley School District

    Pleasant Valley School District's current Comprehensive Plan runs through the 2021-2022 school year.  The district's subsequent Comprehensive Plan is currently in development, to be submitted to the state by March 30, 2022. 

    What is Comprehensive Planning?

    The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) requires each school district in the Commonwealth to participate in Comprehensive Planning - a continuous process used to ensure that all students achieve at high levels in preparation for future life endeavors. 

    Chapter 4 of the PA School Code stipulates this planning requirement for every school district in Pennsylvania to be submitted on a three-year cycle.

    To this end, all Local Educational Agencies (LEA) work toward the creation of a highly effective learning environment ensuring the academic and personal success of all students. Continuous planning is essential to increased student performance and quality results. Innovative, student centered, and research-based programming, coupled with focused staff development, aligned resources, and public participation are critical factors for our district  to demonstrate continuous and meaningful growth.       • Set priorities, establish goals, and create detailed plans to achieve those goals over the next three years.

  • Ready, Set, Learn! Pre-Kindergarten Program - Session 1

    Please stop by the Pleasant Valley District Office Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 3:00 pm. to pick up your complimentary copy of the book “The Little School Bus” so that you can practice the strategies shown in the video with your child. This book is yours to keep.  Copies of the accompanying parent packet will also be available for pick up.  If you are unable to pick up the materials in the hours above, please call 570-402-1000, ext. 1311.  Thank you.

  • Face Mask Exemption Request Form 

    Please click the link below for the Face Mask Exemption Request Form.  This must be completely filled out including the certification form that must be signed by a physician.  All completed forms are to be sent to the Superintendent's Office.  Until we receive the form, signed by a physician and you are notified by the Superintendent's Office that the form has been approved, the student must wear a mask.

  • Emergency Broadband Benefit Program Launch Date Announced

    Consumers Can Begin Applying and Enrolling on May 12 

    On April 29, 2021, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced that the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (EBB Program) will launch on May 12, 2021. At this time, consumers can apply for the program through the National Verifier at GetEmergencyBroadband.org and service providers can begin enrolling consumers in the National Lifeline Accountability Database (NLAD) who qualified through the National Verifier or through an alternative verification process (AVP), or who opted into the program from Lifeline.
    Please note that Lifeline Claims System (LCS) workflows for the EBB Program are in the final stages of development and will be deployed in advance of the first snapshot date. USAC will provide additional information to participating providers when LCS is available for testing.
