ARP ESSER FUNDING Information
The Pennsylvania Department of Education has offered Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Funds.
To this end, The American Rescue (ARP) Act of 2021 provided Pennsylvania schools with 5 billion dollars in emergency funding to support the ongoing work of educational recovery. PVSD's allocation was $5,704,025.00.
ARP ESSER Learning Loss 7% Set Aside Plan - Act 24 of 2021 (Act 24) identified $350 million in ARP ESSER set aside funds for the implementation of evidence-based interventions to address learning loss and provide summer enrichment and comprehensive after-school programs in response to the academic, social, emotional and mental health needs of students, particularly subgroups of students disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. Act 24 requires that school districts, at a minimum, use the funds in the following ways:
- 30% allocation to address social, emotional, and mental health needs of students
- 10% allocation to address professional development and technical assistance to educators, school support staff, school leaders, and school health professionals to support social, emotional and mental health needs of students
- 8% allocation to address reading remediation and improvement for students
- The remaining allocation may be used by PVSD to address or supplement other key areas of learning loss as a result of the pandemic.
PVSD's allocation was $316,664.00.
ARP ESSER After School Set Aside Plan - Act 24 of 2021 (Act 24) identified approximately $50 million in ARP ESSER set aside funds for the implementation of comprehensive after-school programs to address learning loss in response to the academic, social, emotional and mental health needs of students and sub-groups of students disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.
PVSD's allocation was $63,333.00.

PVSD's allocation was $63,333.00.
